Energizing Tips to Help You Wake Up for That Rooster

p too late? Season change messing with your schedule? Check out these wake-up strategies our instructors swear by!

Put on your favorite song and jam to it when you're feeling super tired. The louder, the better!

PRESSED JUICE! The natural sugar puts an extra pep in my step and digests very easily.

I've never been a coffee drinker so I've been going to green tea when I need to focus in the morning. If I’m unusually tired or if I'm on a third class or workout of the day, I use True Grit Pre for the boost I need to power through.

Find, watch, or read something that makes you laugh or smile. It helps wake you up and sets a positive tone for your day.

I can't believe I'm saying this: Wake up early. If you give yourself more time before you have to be wherever you need to be, you'll have more energy throughout the day. Also: Listen to “Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats. It helps.

Put on a comfy sweatshirt! A lot of people stay in bed because of the warmth and comfort of the blanket and bed. I keep a comfy sweatshirt near my bed so I get up and still have that feeling and then chug two cold glasses of water. Wakes you up and helps digestion and cleansing!

To stay energized, I incorporate small naps into my day. That is a foreign concept for most people, I'm aware of that! But even if I can only close my eyes for 15 minutes and I'm just sitting in my car, I set an alarm and close my eyes for those few moments and I always feel much better and ready to spring into action!

Every day when I get up — BEFORE the coffee -—I have a giant bottle (34 ounces) of water with freshly squeezed lemon. It wakes you up and you start your day hydrated.

WATER and your favorite songs. Drinking water first thing in the morn is SO important and rejuvenating. We're supposed to drink so much water every 24 hours... and while we're sleeping we don't drink. So we automatically wake up dehydrated. Drinking water first thing in the morning is like a flower drinking the moisture in the air from the night to stay hydrated all day long! As soon as I drink my tall glass of water in the morning I feel like my body is ready to perform - at least way more ready than without drinking water. Also, listening to my favorite songs first thing in the morning puts me in a good mood and gets me ready to attack the day! (I always customize my alarm with one of my favorite songs so it's the first thing I hear and wake up to!)

Other than coffee or espresso, a great energizing tip is water with lemon. Keep a glass or water bottle near your bedside. You'll be surprised how much better you will feel after a great night's sleep!

The key to having energy during daylight savings is SLEEP! Go to bed early to get your body clock right.

Get up when your alarm goes off and DO NOT hit snooze. Also, if you don't have time to take a quick shower, splash cold water on your face.

A hot shower usually always does the trick! Staying hydrated is another way that makes me feel more energized when I'm sleepy!

If I have a week where I have to wake up early a lot, I do my best to get to bed early the night before. I eat dinner earlier (before 9 PM) and go to sleep by 11:00 PM. Also just putting your alarm clock away from your night stand has helped. It helps to get up and walk across the room, and always wash my face immediately after with cold water.

I set my alarm with softer music so I wake up in a calm relaxed mood and I set it always an extra half hour earlier so I don't have to rush waking up.
