Research published in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that glycogen, your body's storage form of carbs, is restored faster when people have both carbs and caffeine after a tough workout. In fact, when compared with eating just carbs, the carb-caffeine combo led to a 66 percent boost in muscle glycogen four hours after finishing your exercise, the study found. 

Why this matters? More glycogen in your muscles means you'll recover from your workout faster — and up your ability to ride harder or longer at your next class. We'll raise a mug to that!
