The Mantra That Keeps Claire Motivated

hich mantra keeps you inspired? LA instructor CLAIRE HOWELL reveals the words that help her find intention and stay focused...
I like to stay motivated through meditation and a mantra. A mantra is more than just saying words for me. I use one particular mantra — ”Happiness is an inside job" — while I close my eyes and practice stillness.
This is my favorite because we tend to let noise, social media and busy lives distract us from what we have, who we are, and what we can be grateful for. This can mess with us choosing to be positive or happy. I don't say these words out loud, I just continue to repeat it in my head until soon the words are not my main focus anymore. Once I can clear my mind and am no longer focused on each word, I feel more self-aware and I've internalized the intention of the words I started with.
I bring a bit of that into my classes by asking my riders to start with an intention or a word that they can work on internalizing throughout class. When we ride at SOUL, do yoga or stretch, it is a form of meditation to me. Every now and again when it gets tough you can use that same intention, mantra, or word to get you up a hill or a tough sprint. If you can leave the room uplifted, stronger, confident, connected or aware.... you're winning!
Taking the time to reconnect with YOU is so important. My favorite mantra and meditation keeps me motivated to motivate in the studio, and motivated to work on being better than I was yesterday.
