Destination SOUL: A Guide to Aspen

We're bringing SOUL to the slopes! As we swing open the doors at Destination SOUL: Aspen, read Spring Cafe's Sabrina Rudin's guide to the area.

Destination SOUL is officially open in Aspen! As we kick off with classes taught by AYA, STEVIE, KATHLEEN, and ROARKE, and an après SOUL lounge with our friends from Spring Cafe, owner Sabrina Rudin is here with her guide to all things Aspen.

stay. Nothing beats the cozy yet modern rooms and the ski in/ski out location of The Little Nell. The service is legendary and the guys who run the ski concierge make sure you are set up for an epic day on the slopes! If you don't mind walking a few blocks to the mountain, The Jerome, with its newly renovated rooms and delicious food is also a favorite!

grab healthy breakfast before hitting the slopes. My restaurant, Spring Cafe! Start with a fresh or cold pressed juice, then fuel up on our gluten free blueberry pancakes, nutrient packed smoothies or our famous Hero Burrito (named one of the best breakfast burritos in town), and you won't leave disappointed...or hungry!

get a post-SoulCycle snack. Warm spinach artichoke dip and crudites or a coconut, chocolate chip macaroon from Spring Cafe. If you are feeling super indulgent, truffle fries at Ajax Tavern.

hang during the day. Grab a pair of spikes and hike up Buttermilk, the spectacular views and the clean mountain air will leave you breathless... in the best way possible! Try snowshoeing through ACES nature preserve or riding the Gondola to the top of the mountain for some morning yoga and lunch at the sundeck. Aspen also has a great art scene, visit the Aspen Art Museum for any one of their phenomenally curated shows, pop into Baldwin and make sure to check out the new Boesky West gallery.

get in an après ski. There is nothing better than snagging a fireplace seat at The Little Nell for a glass of wine, a hot cider or the most decadent hot chocolate in town.

hit the spa. o2 Aspen, book a facial with Ferris, yoga with Evan or any of their amazing treatments and you'll leave feeling totally relaxed and ready to take on your next Aspen adventure.

shop. MAX for cute dresses, tops and fun jewelry, Pitkin County Dry Goods for the BEST selection of jeans EVER, o2 for one of a kind athletic wear that you can wear in or out of the gym and PE 101.

plan dinner with friends. Matsuhisa for the best food in town, great service and loveliest ambiance, try the Adam roll if you are craving sushi or, if you are vegetarian, the hearts of palm salad, sauteed yuzu mushrooms and soba noodle soup.

spend New Year's Eve. Watch the 8pm fireworks over Ajax mountain then head to dinner at Campo de Fiori for spectacular decorations and a delicious Italian meal. When the clock strikes midnight they clear the tables and the whole restaurant turns into a streamer- filled dance party. It's AMAZING!
