Healthy, High-Energy Smoothie Recipes to Power Your Ride

eed an extra boost for your ride? Registered dietitian, personal chef and founder of Aspen Balls, Jessica Krane, M.S., R.D., shared her two go-to smoothie recipes for powering through.

As a registered dietitian and personal chef in Aspen, Colorado, I believe that you can nourish your body and soul through healthy, delicious foods.

My go-to energy booster? Smoothies. They’re hydrating, plus they’re loaded with good-for-you nutrients. I love to whip one up as a snack, or even a light meal, for refueling after working out. Smoothies are also a great way to kick off your day with clean, green energy. Here are my two favorite smoothie recipes:

Maca Almond Milk Smoothie
½ cup almond milk
1 banana, peeled and frozen
1 Tablespoon Maca powder
2 Tablespoons almond butter
Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender, mix, and serve immediately.

This recipe provides energy through the maca powder, so it’s ideal to have a few hours before rocking out at SOUL. The frozen banana gives it a smooth consistency, too.

Avocado Lucuma Smoothie
½ avocado
1 banana, peeled and frozen
1 Tablespoons Lucuma powder
½ cup nut milk of your choice
Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender, mix, and serve immediately.

Lucema powder is great for reducing inflammation, and is packed with plenty of antioxidants, potassium and calcium, making it the perfect post-SOUL snack.
