Julie D.'s SOUL to Street Style
August 28, 2015
With mantras to skulls to wheels, we love repping the pack, on and off the bike. NYC instructor JULIE DERMER shows us how she goes from SOUL to street in one of her favorite retail pieces…
As a lover of Soul and style, I enjoy putting together looks that can showcase both, but to close out #summerofSOUL and ring in cooler temps, I wanted a little fashion challenge. I enlisted my close friend, fellow warrior, and professional stylist Nancy Slagowitz to put together three looks — based around the Flowy Boxy Tank with splatter from the BUILT BY SOUL retail collection — that take me from the studio to a night on the town!
Morning: Off to SoulCycle
Nancy and I paired the tank with lots of color, choosing the Tie-Dye Skull Capri from SOUL. Pops of color are much more fun during the cardio party. The wheel tote holds all of my essentials for the studio, and the Leyendecker fringe vest added a little personal flare before clipping in.
Midday: Out To Brunch
Superstar Nancy found this incredible re:named Cape Jacket that instantly dresses up anything, and was even able to get it monogrammed for me! We kept the look day-appropriate with fitted dark wash jeans and the wheel tote.
Evening: Dinner in the City
The nighttime look might have been the most challenging, but it’s also my favorite of the bunch. Once again, Nancy outdid herself and found this INCREDIBLE MSGM Tweed Fringe Skirt (Otte), and the colors complimented the splatted in the tank perfectly. The cropped length of the tank looked amazing with the high-waisted skirt, and we completed the look with an open toe bootie — an ideal shoe for strutting from summer into fall!
