Bethany brings her Zen SOUL to SoulCycle via the yoga world. Bethany is an internationally featured fitness instructor and educator whose rides are a journey of letting go, facing resistance and embracing a meditation-in-motion on the bike.
In 2001, as a classically trained dancer, Bethany completed a Power Yoga certification and continues her studies today with Baron Baptiste. In 2004, on the West Coast, she found spinning. Proud to be one of the original SoulCycle instructors, Bethany educates with a mix of presence, authentic sharing and kick-booty energy. Constantly seeking ways to help others "turn the lights on," her work extends beyond the studio. Bethany happily resides in Chelsea with her multi-talented husband and partner John Murray (and their two felines, Mocha & Lily).

Sue brings us her rockin' southern SOUL all the way from South Carolina. Living in Los Angeles, when her kickboxing guru moved away, she was forced by friends to try spinning. After her first class, Sue decided that spinning would REALLY ROCK if she could play her own music. So she got certified and ended up teaching spin at Gold's Gym in Hollywood for almost ten years, before heading East to SoulCycle. Sue likes to think of her cycling classes as Music Appreciation 101, rather than an "exercise class." She leans towards classic rock and pop, but anything goes in her playlists. She builds each class with specifically cadenced music so that the challenge is keeping up with the different beat of each song -- at varying levels of resistance. She encourages singing along, "hootin' and hollerin'," and enjoying the inspiring sense of camaraderie that can only be found in group exercise. Sue resides in New York City with her beloved cat, Jack.

Her love affair with indoor cycling began 10 years ago. She still loves the music, the people, and the energy that happens in a rockin’ class! She is also an actress, and has performed in Off-Broadway as well as in regional plays, film and television. Ultimately she strives to live a healthy, happy & Soulful life.

Janet brings us her inspirational and rhythmic SOUL from Los Angeles with over 20 years of private training and leading group fitness. Her spinning classes are based on a foundation of discipline, focus, intention, rhythm, and dance. Janet creates an exhilarating atmosphere with her pioneering teaching style, her deep connection to music, and the ability to lead her students on an inspirational journey towards total self-empowerment.
"When you create your intention, close your eyes, and align your pedal strokes with the rhythm of the music…it’s like a dance. When you can learn to dance and breathe through the challenging moments in your life….all of life becomes a blessing. We are not training to become better spinners…we are training for this exciting journey we call life. I believe in dreams coming true one pedal stroke at a time."
Janet was featured in Vogue’s exclusive article “The Next Establishment of Women to Watch” and has been highlighted in Self, People, W, Allure, Women’s Sports and Fitness, Angelino, and LA Magazine. She is also known for her motivational speaking and seminars specializing in self-discovery through breath meditation. This work has inspired her to lead spiritual fitness retreats in magical destinations like Kauai, offering a transformation of both the body and the soul.

MELANIE GRIFFITH is a shining example of what is possible for those who commit to take a SOUL journey. Melanie took her first ever spin class just over three years ago at the newly-opened West Side SOUL CYCLE. What began as a search for a new form of excercise after her third child was born quickly became a spin addiction and blossomed into a new chapter in her life. Melanie is an attorney and fundraiser, but her SOUL journey has led her to become a certified spinning instructer. Melanie has spent many years as a student of dance, pilates and yoga and is thrilled to have crossed the threshold from student to teacher. Her inner rhythm, love of dance, and soulful approach to life are evident in every joy-filled and groovy ride. Melanie lives in New York City with her husband and their three young children (and two dogs).

Kaili brings us her athletic SOUL from the Midwest. Her journey to NYC began in Kansas City Kansas, where she developed her love of training and team sports. As an undergraduate standout NCAA Division I Volleyball player at Georgetown University, she developed the knowledge of core strength building and weight training for flexibility, speed and endurance.
Although Kaili started at SoulCycle part-time, she was quickly coerced into forgoing her post-graduate studies in medicine to join SoulCycle full-time!!! (and devote her SOUL to the pursuit of a Master's degree at SUNY Downstate School of Public Health.) Kaili recently made the transition to instructor after lots of encouragement. On the bike, she brings her experience as a highly conditioned athlete and motivates riders to surpass their personal best. Kaili lives in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn.

Lindy Flowers brings her pint–sized SOUL to SoulCycle. Although she's petite in size and sweet in nature, don’t be fooled…her killer workouts are fierce and focused. A certified instructor in Ashtanga Yoga (Power Flow) and Mad Dogg Spinning, Lindy has been an avid athlete her whole life. In 2008, Lindy received her M.F.A. in acting from the University of North Carolina with three years of voice and movement training. Lindy incorporates elements of her yoga and performance background into each class, focusing on breath control, body awareness, and staying mentally present. A native of "Sin City" Las Vegas, String brings us his urban SOUL. In search of health and community back in L.A, String took his first cycling class and the experience changed his life. 2,000 miles and 3 Aids Lifecycle rides later, cycling became more than just exercise. Intense, spirited, with a fire for life, String don't play! His class will challenge you, but never fear, he has a unique ear for music and his energy will guide you like only "String" can.
ELIANNA SABLE was born to ride. More importantly she was born to ride at SoulCycle. SoulCycle has nurtured her passion for fitness, first as a rider and now as an instructor. Riding a bike almost as soon as she could walk, Elianna is a certified personal trainer, lifeguard, and college athlete. And while she's able to put a positive “spin” on everything, Elianna has already developed a reputation for leading a tough ride. Always challenging herself to grow physically, mentally and spiritually stronger, Elianna completed this year’s NYC triathlon while simultaneously raising money for victims of terror. Elianna, a native New Yorker, is thrilled to empower others through SoulCycle.

A native New Yorker, Taye brings her creative SOUL to SoulCycle. Beginning at age 3, Taye took ballet, jazz, tap, modern, liturgical dance, cheerleading and step. All these forms of dance have developed her sensitivity for beat and rhythm, which are emphasized in all of her classes. From the moment Taye walked into Soul Scarsdale she knew that she found a new love and that she was there to stay. Starting off at the front-desk she soon trained to become an instructor. Taye feels like a modern-day Alice in Wonderland with NYC as her playground. Her motto is: “LIKE IT, LOVE IT, OWN IT!”

Louise brings us her pixie SOUL all the way from Neverland... just kidding, Iowa. It has always been her dream to be a Disney character, but she’s coming to terms with the fact that she’s not a cartoon. This psychological torment can only be eased by riding in a candlelit room on a stationary bike. Good thing she found SoulCycle! Since 2006, Louise has been riding in cathartic Soul classes and working behind the front desk of the Upper West Side studio. Transitioning into teaching just made sense. When Louise isn't pedaling, she pursues a career as a working actor. Louise wholeheartedly believes in honoring your inner child and smiling more. If we can do that together, maybe we can all ride happily ever after!

Emily brings her Ninja Soul to SoulCycle! After graduating with honors in "Rock Star Studies" Emily moved to NYC on Thanksgiving Day 2007. This "Texanese" (Japanese/Texan) was looking for an adventure, and boy did she find it! Emily first experienced SoulCycle when the Tribeca studios opened. She was 20 lbs heavier and in need of a change. After taking one class, she was hooked. And after several rides, she found another addiction ...SoulBands! With the combination of both classes, her body transformed. Never seeing herself as a "fitness person" before, Emily is now a proud member of the SoulCycle family! In her class, you can expect amazing energy, off the wall music..and yes, you will sweat! When not teaching at SoulCycle, Emily is taking classes at SoulCycle or relaxing in her apartment with her longtime love, Josh. Her other interests include the beach and sunshine!

Jolie brings us her latin SOUL from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She moved stateside as a teenager to start her career in Musical Theater and Opera and has since performed all over the world. Along the way, health and fitness played a huge role in her life. Jolie has been passionate about spinning since she took her first class at 17 years old. Passion became obsession when she discovered SoulCycle. She quickly realized that she had found the perfect place to combine her love for music, dance, performance and fitness. Most importantly, being a Soul instructor allows her to inspire people and change lives for the better. Jolie's classes inspire riders to challenge themselves as athletes, improve technique, and build endurance, all while having a blast - a cardio party on a bike. The choreography is constantly changing to keep riders growing to their maximum ability. Her playlists are filled with thick beats, hip hop and of course... SOUL. Jolie is happily married and blessed to be a first time mom to a beautiful son named Joaquin Benjamin, who came into this world with a good nine months of spinning under his belt!
I'm kind of obsessed with Eminem, Jay -Z, Pitbull, Rihanna, Macklemore & Lewis & Fun. I love so many different artists and styles of music, but the one thing I crave when I teach is a thick beat.
All of the above plus, B.O.B., Kanye, Chris Brown, Lupe Fiasco, Nikki Minaj, Adele, Guetta... the list goes on and on.

Jeremy brings us his versatile Soul by way of South Carolina. A classically trained singer and pop music fanatic, Jeremy's desire to emulate his favorite pop stars inspired him to get fit after being an overweight child. Jeremy started riding at SoulCycle after joining the front desk, and within months became an instructor. Jeremy loves losing himself in the music while working out and hopes to create that experience for his riders.

Emma is over the moon to be joining the SoulCycle family. Coming from a theatrical background she was instantly drawn to the passion and vibrancy found in every Soul class. Within weeks of her first SC class, Emma knew she had to be an instructor. When she's not on a bike she can be found bonding with her pup Pete, coaching fellow actors and singers or performing on a Broadway stage.

Madison brings her sunny Soul to SoulCycle. Hailing from Santa Monica California, Madison spent her earliest days as an athlete - swimming, dancing and snowboarding. Following high school, Madison began a career at Intermix where she practiced as a personal stylist for six years. But this fashionista is discovering that her true passion lies in fitness. After riding at Soul for a year, she knew she wanted to give back what she received.

Andrea brings her sporty Soul to SoulCycle. Born and raised on Long Island, Andrea has never met a sport she has not liked. As a young girl she enjoyed gymnastics, dance, water skiing, snow skiing, horseback riding and soccer. She played soccer competitively during her high school years and now enjoys playing tennis on several teams. This soccer mom walked in the SC doors almost 2 years ago when the Dale studio first opened and by the end of her first class she was hooked! SoulCycle has allowed her the perfect combination of her love for sports and music. As a rider turned instructor, she likes to channel her high energy to inspire others to have fun while working out and help riders find their inner woo hoo! When she is not hooting and dancing on the bike (or on the school pick-up line) you can probably find her on the tennis courts or jogging on the streets of Scarsdale.
Too many great ones I have loved over the years to pick just one!

Gabrielle has danced her way through life and since joining SoulCycle she hasn't stopped! She spent her childhood as a member of a modern dance company, leaving it only to pursue her love of photography. After graduating from college, she spent years working as a photo editor at magazines including jobs at Vogue and People Magazine. Gabrielle now lives in her hometown of Scarsdale, where she and her husband live with their two young daughters. She was a rider at SoulCycle Scarsdale the first day it opened in 2010 and became the first rider from that studio to cross over and become an instructor. Her strong sense of community, her contagious smile and her love of dance are central to her class.

Ben T. brings us his loyal SOUL from right here in New York City. A lifelong athlete, Ben started working as personal trainer while attending Boston University where he graduated with a B.S. in Athletic Training. Ben returned to the city to continue his career in fitness, training elite-level athletes and obtaining a M.A. in Exercise Physiology/Human Movement from Columbia University. When Ben took a break from fitness to become a lawyer, he found refuge as a rider at SoulCycle. Ben's experience as a rider led him to develop the class he'd want to sign up for -- challenging, inspirational and always set to a killer playlist. A true SoulCycle devotee, when he's not teaching, you can often find Ben riding on a bike right next to you. SoulCycle even inspired Ben to take his passion for cycling outside where he now competes in local road races. Ben also trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and practices yoga.

As an instructor, Julie inspires her riders to embark on their own personal journey, uncovering strength, confidence, and peace along the way. Julie believes each ride is a celebration of one’s potential, on and off the bike!

Too many favorite artists. I would have to say that a couple of my faves are Fleetwood Mac, Florence & the Machine, Feist, and Keane.
Lately I've been listening to a lot of Phantogram, Scissor Sisters, The XX, and Sleigh Bells.
My "travel to soul spot" would definitely have to be Spain. I studied abroad there while I finished my Spanish Minor in college. I love the culture, people and language. San Sebastian is THE best city there. HANDS DOWN.

hmmm.....I'm going to go on the pop-culture side of things for this question. I don't miss any Gossip Girl or Glee episodes. I'm too attached. I find fulfillment in cheesy dramas.
Hailing from Long Island, Lindsay brings her FUN Soul to SoulCycle. The summer before starting graduate school, Lindsay took her first ride at Soul and her life was forever changed. With a lot of encouragement and support, Lindsay made the leap from rider to instructor. Lindsay loves her Soul family and community and wants to inspire people the way that she was inspired. Lindsay likes all kinds of music, including hip-hop, classic rock (especially girl bands like Pat Benatar and Stevie Nicks), and fun dance remixes. She just wants to have a dance party on that bike!
I have always loved and will always love Madonna, Michael Jackson AND Janet Jackson.
Anything with a solid, fun beat like Jay Z, Kanye, Biggie, Eminem, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj or David Guetta equals a wild dance party on that bike!

As a trained ballet dancer and musical theater performer she has a deep understanding of the music that will make you want to MOVE (everything from classic rock, to the newest hip-hop, to the pop song you only just forgot about). Isabel brings her VIVACIOUS Soul all the way from NorCal. Born in Napa, Isabel moved out to New York for college and never left. Trained in classical ballet, Isabel danced her way through college, and now brings her love of music and movement to the bike. Isabel fell in love with SoulCycle after her first few rides, and after working briefly at the front desk, decided to make the leap from rider to instructor. While she loves to rock out on the bike, her ambitions run deeper than a dance party. For Isabel, SoulCycle is about being confident enough to find your own rhythm and dance on the bike, and being able to take that with you when you leave the studio.

Where I grew up in Napa there is a tiny canyon on the east side of the valley called Soda Canyon and if you drive up this little winding road and turn around at the top you can see the whole valley and all the way out past Sonoma and Marin almost to the SF Bay. Favorite spot in the world.
My fire escape. I love just sitting out there with my roommates on warm nights. In the winter, my bed is my soul spot. It's a beautiful place.
I know it's expensive and silly but I can't live without at least one if not 2 grande extra hot soy mistos from Starbucks every day. Other coffees just aren't the same.
An actress and stylist by trade, Nina discovered cycling while living in Los Angeles. She believes the energy exchanged while riding in the pack can help carry riders through their journey outside of class. Emily brings her down to earth Soul all the way from the Midwest. This Kansas native moved to NYC to be a professional dancer after graduation. While trying to stay in shape for auditions, she completed her first half marathon. Feeling exhilarated and inspired from that first finish line, Emily knew she had unearthed a new passion for fitness and wanted to share it with others. Emily also enrolled her family in her fitness journey. Over the course of four years, "Team Turner" has shared and supported each other in countless marathons, half marathons, and triathlons across the country. Her journey led her to SoulCycle where she naturally fell in love. Now she is overjoyed to be a part of the Soul fam and is so grateful for this opportunity to inspire our riders each day through sweat, spirituality, and FUN!

Maya brings her urban SOUL and innate musicality to SoulCycle. Rhythm and music are Maya’s lifeblood. Her love of music began early; as a kid on the school bus, Maya sparked lots of attention rapping over Eminem’s Real Slim Shady. Pretty soon, other kids looked to her for music advice.
