Just when we thought our team of instructors couldn't possibly get any better, a new surge of Soul Rockstars came to prove us wrong. Meet AMANDA MAX. A down to earth mother of two with an affinity for hip-hop, Amanda inspires a feeling of empowerment in her class and in person. Riding with Amanda, you feel like you can face impossible odds, break the rules and ride how you want to ride. And that's a feeling you can take with you all day long.
Athlete. Legend. Rockstar. Warrior. These aren't just words we put on our wall - it's who we become when we clip in, turn off the lights and ride. GINA ILARDI experienced this kind of empowerment as Soul helped her through post-partum depression. She says when she's riding she feels like she can do anything. And sooner or later that feeling becomes true.
No, you did not read that title incorrectly. Soul rider KRISTIN WILLIAMS, better known by her nickname "Clammy," rode at SoulCycle for 42 days in a row! Find out why she did it, what the highs and lows were and how she felt at the end of it all. Who knows? Maybe Kristin's story will even inspire you to do a challenge of your own!
Kristin on her 42nd ride!
Since we started sharing Soul Stories on the blog, we've been amazed by the different ways SoulCycle has influenced our riders. And this story is no exception. After her first Soul class, CARLA ALVES decided to quit smoking. Six months later she's still committed to her Soul routine and smoke free. Congratulations Carla, we can't wait to celebrate one year with you!
Recently, the Soul Blog was amazed to find this letter in our inbox. A beatuiful story of strength and resilience, KRISTEN CHERI shares how SoulCycle entered her life and played a part in her wedding. Definitely one of our favorite Soul Stories of all time, Kristen's love shines through every word. But be forewarned, this one's a tear jerker.
If you're unfamiliar with the SOULCYCLE GIFS page, do yourself a favor, take a look and come back to us in 20 minutes. Creator, BEN ZUMSTEG, has managed to distill much of the Soul experience into short laugh-out-loud videos, recognizable and relatable (perhaps only) to the Soul Community. Thank you Ben for your ode to Soul. This is how the Soul office feels when they read your Tumblr page...
Rock and Roller. Dancer. Adventurer. These are just a few of the words that describe Soul instructor, EMILY HOPE TURNER. A energetic and enthusiastic SOUL, Emily is known for embracing all that life has to offer. She loves a fast jog and a juicy hill, rock and roll and teen pop, pushing herself to the limit and taking it easy. Those are some contradictions we can get behind.
Meet Larry and Melissa, or as their fondly known on the Twittersphere, "Larissa." These Soul Mates are famous for riding multiple times a week, for their strong Twitter presence (see handles below), and for cheering on everyone from Soul veterans to instructors-in-training. These two have spread their positive energy and welcoming vibes throughout the Soul Community and have ridden in just about every studio on the East Coast. Find out how Larry and Melissa discovered Soul, whether or not they like riding together and what their friends make of their Soul obsession!
Last Thursday in Roslyn, we celebrated one of our favorite triple threats as Julie D. led the pack for a J. LO RIDE! We were booty-shaking, fist-pumping and head-banging to all our favorite hits by Jenny from the Block. Check out the pics from the ride and listen to the playlist on Spotify!
CHARLEE ATKINS has had a great year. She picked up and moved to NY, became rockstar SoulCycle Instructor and, as of last month, became a professional fitness model. Soul Blog talks with Charlee about how she got into modeling, what she does to stay in tip-top shape and how she manages to balance it all. Be sure to check out Charlee in October's Fitness Magazine (pages 67 & 68) on stands now!

It's hard to believe that Salt Lake City native, PARKER RADCLIFFE, took his first Soul class just one year ago. Now 365 days later, it's virtually impossible to imagine the Soul Community without him. From the very first moment of riding with Parker, it's clear that music is one of his true passions. Well-known for his sick playlists, Parker's classes in TriBeCa and Union Square are commonly referred to as "Parker Parties." Haven't ridden with him yet? Time to log on, sign up and party down.
Sometimes the best way to deal with a bad day is become a warrior and rock that bike. ROBIN YOUKILIS shares how riding the front row proved that we are all in control of how we respond to the curve balls life throws at us!
Chances are, if you ride at W 77th St, then you already know EMILY LARGER (or as her co-workers like to call her, Blades). Emily has worked off-and-on at the west side for two and half years, soaking up inspiration from nearly every instructor at Soul. And her experience shows. A true performer, Emily knows how to command a class and let loose at the same time. And her wicked sense of humor doesn't hurt either. Already teaching to sold-out rooms, we suggest you take her class now... while you can still get in!
Lululemon's Gospel of Sweat event holds special significance for us at SoulCycle. Not only is our very own MELANIE GRIFFITH one of the speakers, but the entire event was inspired during a ride with Clare Veronica Walsh. As a prescursor to Friday's talk, Melanie shares with us some of her most spiritual moments on the bike.
STACEY DANKNER LESSANS is an devoted SoulCycler, her husband an avid road cyclist. On a typical Saturday morning, Stacey sweats it out in Lori’s 7:30am class while her husband clocks miles on his bike in Central Park. But when the opportunity arose to see the elite cyclists of the Tour de France, they both jumped on it. Stacey shares her reflections from watching the dedicated cyclists and how they relate back to her experience at Soul!
