Can you believe it's been nine weeks since Carly Handler began her Soul Transformation? 12 pounds later and it's all been worthwhile! Check in with her as she describes her classes for the week and the eternal struggle to find the beat!

I have to take a moment to say how amazing this whole experience has been. Both the instructors and other riders have been so supportive, people have shared their own stories with me and it just gets better and better every week.
Droga5 and Bing's promotion for Jay-Z's new memoir Decoded is just about the coolest ad campaign we've ever seen. It's a modern day Willy Wonka, only instead of getting to tour a candy factory, you can win tickets to see Coldplay and Jay-Z in Vegas. Not a bad trade.

Droga5 has devised a location-based scavenger-hunt game to promote Jay-Z's upcoming memoir, Decoded. Giant pages are showing up in places mentioned on those actual pages in the book—all relevant in some way to Jay-Z's life. The people who discover them first can "claim" them via text message, and then "decode" them online, with help from Microsoft's Bing search engine. The pages will pop up in unconventional public areas like swimming pools and clothing racks.

This week, for our new Free Music Monday Twitter series, we gave away a free remix of La Roux’s hit “In for the Kill," mixed by another SoulCycle favorite Kanye West.
La Roux is a pop electronic duo from England. The female lead Elizabeth Jackson has a very striking presence, known for her androgynous style and red pompadour! The group’s male Ben Langmaid stays off screen in music videos and live shows, leaving most people to believe La Roux is only a solo act. The original version of “In for the Kill” led to the group's worldwide success. You may have caught it in an episode of HBO's Entourage in August 2010. After the song was featured on the show, sales spiked 600%!
We love La Roux (“red-haired one” in French) and we're loving free music Mondays!!
Check in with Carly Handler after eight weeks! Even though her work week was busy, Carly made time for her workouts and stuck to her diet. Another pound lost... congrats Carly!

Our favorite bike accessory of the week! CyFi lets you make a playlist and hit the road, Soul-style. Just don't try to do push-ups on the handlebars. Some things are better left indoors.

For the cyclist who has everything, here’s the CyFi ($100), a compact speaker that fastens to handlebars (or backpack strap, or stroller). Your phone or music player, nestled in your pocket, transmits music to the speaker wirelessly as you ride along. The company argues that listening this way is safer than wearing earbuds. Considering its tiny size — the sound is surprisingly full.

Carly Handler faces her first week on the scale without any weight loss. But let us be the first to say that losing 9 lbs in less than two months is nothing to sneeze at! This is just a bump in the road and we know Carly will keep riding strong!!!

CARLY HANDLER tells SoulCycle about her first week of sugar busters, this week's rides and Pedal in the Park. Almost at the halfway mark and going strong!

Haven't taken SoulCycle Bands yet? Check out this video of MB's bands class on My Fox NY and see if you don't suddenly have the urge to sign up!
It's not just the song's title that we can relate to! "Music of my Soul," from the Tony Award-winning musical Memphis has a melody and sentiment that will stick with you. Ok, we also love the title. Take a listen!
Week 5 and Carly Handler's still on track to hit her goal weight. Sounds like October will be a tough month, but if anyone can get through it Carly can!

Carly before Sue's Friday 6:00 in Tribeca!
This week's weight loss: 1 lb
Total weight loss: 5 lbs
Another week, another pound. Unfortunately this week didn't surpass last week's weight loss of 1 pound, but my struggle is not a mystery and it is definitely the emotional eating keeping me from bigger numbers.
Meet LORI ABELES, producer-turned-instructor who can be found killing it on the dance floor, diving in the ocean and just about anywhere in between. She says she feels lucky, but SoulCycle's the lucky one.

2) My father was a latin dance instructor, so maybe the love of music and dance is in the genes.
3) I'm a PADI certified scuba diver...
4) I can sing. Like, kinda actually sing. I attended the High School of Music and Art right here in NYC.
5) I am one fierce scrabble player.
My class is unique because...
I'm a slave to the rhythm and the beat!! I have always been musically obsessed, and being a SoulCycle instructor gives me the opportunity to put all the great music I love into action.
And...I freaking love to dance!!! Giving my riders an amazing, challenging workout, while DANCING on the bike to an ecclectic mix of music that moves them AND me, that's what I think makes my class an awesome experience.
My favorite musical artist is...
Stevie Wonder. If I had only the collected works of just one artist to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be him.
If I have an hour to myself, I'm...
Surprised and ecstatic! And...usually listening to/working with music.
The issue of marriage equality is very important to me.
Even my kids know it's whacko that their own close friends and relatives don't have the same rights that their Dad and I have. So...let's change it people!
My friends know me as
The lucky one (or at least that's how I feel!).
It's Monday -- time to check in with CARLY HANDLER! This week Carly tells us about her struggles with the holiday weekend, how she manages her time and her SoulCycle rides this week!

NICK WAGNER may be sweet, but his class packs a serious punch. Want to test that theory? We dare you.
